Testimony in support of closing public gathering places and mandatory quarantines

Aloha County Council,
My name is Elizabeth Pine and I am a resident of Kailua-Kona.
I have been closely following international, national, and local updates regarding the
coronavirus epidemic and believe that if we don't take stringent preventative measures,
our already taxed Hawai'i island health system will quickly be overwhelmed.
I'd like to lend my support in favor of closing public gathering places. I am also in favor
of placing a mandatory quarantine on those arriving on mainland flights. It only takes a
few irresponsible residents/visitors to allow for COVID-19 to spread drastically.
Please consider these measures, as avoiding them or waiting too long has shown us the
devastating results. Please let us learn from the examples of other communities around
the globe.
