Dear councilmember:
Please mandate the mayor and council to immediately mandate closing down of all tourism, bars,
restaurants (except delivery, drive up takeout)And any large gatherings of more than 10(Or 50 at least)
people during the Outbreak. It is hard to believe that mayor Kim ignores governor Ige's directive In favor
of feeding 8000 tourist Instead of our approximately 186,000 residents lives! (The tourist that are here
are not going to starve there is food available for them via grocery stores or restaurants that have drive
up and take out) Does he not read the news of the rest of the world and se how fast it is
spreading? There are people who are not going to work and cannot collect unemployment because there
is no action by our mayor. There are a lot of people not taking the virus seriously enough as our mayor is
setting a really bad example for Hawaii. Hopefully our council members will make the right decision. At
least two weeks and maybe longer according to the status..
The DOE has closed schools temporarily Till April 30 and some stores that are open are taking
precautions by limiting number of shoppers at a time... It is obvious to the world that we have a very
serious condition, why isn't it obvious to mayor Kim?All the guidelines are set to follow in the governors
directive. Thank you for listening to me and please express my feelings at the meeting today!
Respectfully,
Joy Peterson
