To Hawaii County Council members and Mayor Harry Kim,
My name is Karen Robledo and I am a wife, mother of 2 teens, daughter of a senior citizen, public school
teacher,Sunday school teacher, born and raised in Hilo. My family is practicing social distancing and not
allowing our kids to go out and meet their friends during this extended spring break and limiting outings.
I appreciate the work of the County council and our Mayor. We have to learn from the mistakes that
other countries and states have made.We cannot be over cautious with an unseen virus.We cannot
continue to allow people to travel freely into our state without some type of screening in place.We
must require people to be under quarantine when they arrive.We require that of pets that come from
the mainland. We have to shut down restaurants and bars and other places on our island and limit the
possible infection of hundreds of people. We already know our island is severely lacking doctors and our
hospitals can barely provide adequate care on a normal day. Please listen to our Lt. Governors Josh
Green. He knows what he's talking about.
