Testimony-quarantines demanded for all incoming flights/people

Aloha County Council Leaders,
My name is Mara Saltzman. I have been a resident of the Big Island for over 15 years. I am
begging you to please quarantine all airline passengers for at least 14 days from incoming
flights, whether residents or visitors. Make announcements that tourism is closed for now like
other Hawaii counties have.
Make all restaurants take-out only like other counties. Preserve resources, make sure police
and EMTs are ready for an emergency, make a curfew if you must. We must do this now while
the impact has been minimal because if we wait any longer, residents will become very ill.
There are only 39 ventilators on this island.
That is another point, please urge the state to push the feds to bring in my more ventilators and
medical equipment or have a plan to fly them in when necessary. Please do everything in your
power to continue to ensure that shipping vessels can bring in foods and supplies. Thank
you for your effort during this difficult time. We appreciate what you do for the community!
