To: Council Testimony
On behalf of the people of the Island of Hawaii, the State of Hawaii and the World...I must speak
my unbelievable disappointment in Mayor Kim's complete disregard to the public's health. I ask
that he reconsider keeping our pools,parks and beaches open, exposing our Lifeguards, residents
and tourists to potential illness, spread and God help us, death! These places provide as social
gathering locations, encouraging the very behavior that is highly discouraged. It seems at times
like these the tourists too should feel the impulse to return home, these are dire situations and the
longer they linger the more risk they too will have to deal with as the spread grows
exponentially. This is not a time to nurture, it is a time to lead, to make those difficult decisions
and keep our people safe. The island people are confused and without directives will lead to
more sicknesses and deaths. Mr. Mayor,please reconsider your current position, send the
workers home, close the County, block air travel, demand mandatory lockdowns and allow those
on the frontlines to do their jobs with the fewest cases possible before it's too late.
