li Aloha,
I would like to express my support for closing down non-essential services on the Big Island
similar to the drastic measures recently being taken by California and New York. I also believe
we need to halt all incoming flights and inter-island travel, and require mandatory 14-day
quarantines for anyone already en-route. This is so important to halt the spread of this
virus. Our island is geographically large but has very few resources. We need to be proactive
NOW and take measures to "flatten the curve" so that we can give our medical personnel time to
address the cases that are undoubtedly already here. Please be smart. If we take action now,
hopefully we can limit the shutdown to 30 days or less. Whereas every day we postpone taking
this drastic action, could translate to another several weeks of people being out of jobs and
exponential growth and spread of this virus. Please put people over profits. In the end we will
all be better off for it.
