Mayor Kim is not taking this seriously. And he is not taking responsibility for his actions. I am 38 weeks pregnant(high-risk), and my husband works in the tourism industry. It is so frustrating that every other island is implementing serious efforts to curb the spread of this virus. My husband has to go to work and serve people in a role that is non-essential. He is entertaining tourists because the resorts are all open! WHY are they still open? If Honolulu can close their restaurants, golf courses, bars,parks and beaches, why wouldn't we be able to as well? Why are we welcoming tourists here? That means we are literally asking people to come and bring coronavirus here and infect our community. Harry Kim is supposed to be a leader-he (and Ige)needs to mandate these directives that will keep us safe. Safety is much more important than money. The tourism industry is already going to take a hit-regardless of whether or not the island is shut down. That is inevitable. Why should we allow/welcome the spread of the virus when we have the opportunity to minimize the spread right now? Look at the rest of the state, the country and the world! PLEASE.
