RESOLUTION NO. 598 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE CIVIL
DEFENSE AGENCY COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM PROGRAMS.
WHEREAS,the Civil Defense Agency Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
program is a 27-hour certification course that provides fundamental training and skills to support
CERT teams around Hawai`i Island in the areas of basic disaster response, fire safety, light
rescue,team and responder coordination, and basic medical care; and
WHEREAS, CERT is a community-based program that educates the community on how
to properly prepare and respond to an emergency and which provides support to emergency
response organizations when the need arises; and
WHEREAS,the Civil Defense Agency requests funding assistance to purchase first aid
supplies and communications equipment for the CERT program; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Civil Defense
Agency to purchase first aid supplies and communications equipment for the Community
Emergency Response Team program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Civil Defense Administrator and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
