Bill 148-Mamalahoa Highway Resurfacing �� �

Aloha,
I urge the council to approve Bill 148,which would appropriate 3 million dollars towards the resurfacing
of Mamalahoa Highway between Hohola Drive and Kekehau Street in Waimea. This segment of highway
is in dire need of pavement resurfacing due to increased cross island traffic flow and the ongoing
highway widening project in this area.
It would've made much more sense to have done this work as a part of the current ongoing highway
widening project.This would've lessened the inconvenience on the motorists by doing all the work at
once instead of doing two separate projects, but it didn't turn out that way. Hopefully the council will
authorize the floating of the necessary bonds to do this work.
