HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 0855.014 2018-2020 Sent: Tuesday, April 07, 2020 9:19 AM To: Council Testimony Subject: Resolution 568-20 COUNTY CLERK COUNTY OF HAWAII RECEIVED Time 114401 By _Date APR 0 7 2020 am opposed to Resolution 568-20.The state should reimburse the County for expenses related to its unwarranted demand in 2019 that Hawai County devote limited resources to the harassment of citizens driving between Hilo to Kona, under the pretense that there might be safety issues with regard to peaceful civil assistance at the Mauna Kea access road, which is NOT under the jurisdiction of the County or the State at this time. Please change this resolution in its current form to specify the exact amount of reimbursements for the period up to December 31, 2019 ONLY. Do not propose future reimbursements, and do not make nebulous commitments to future use of County funds to further enforcement actions.
