Subject: Oppose the Memorandum of Agreement
THIS email is to state our opposition to Agenda Item#568-20 that allows a reimbursement for the use of law
enforcement against"protestors" of TMT for an unlimited period of time.
As we are all aware, there was a limited time when Hawai'i law enforcement was on the Mauna itself. Therefore,
the reimbursement, if any should have a deadline date of Dec. 31, 2019. There should be a termination date.
Who are the "parties"which will mutually agree as stated?
There is a discrepancy between the agenda and the actual resolution.
As a tax payer and citizen of Hawaii, I find it concerning that there is no total amount of funds on the
resolution. The county should certainly know how much has been spent so thus owed.
We want to ensure that the County Council and Mayor Kim knows that any attempts of TMT construction during this
pandemic is inconceivable, putting everyone at risk, and they will be held accountable for anything that happens.
Any push for beginning construction, not only puts Kia'i lives in danger, but also so many others, not just here but
around the world. People should be thinking about taking care of their'ohana and selves and not about whether a
county council is trying to slide a fast one by for corporations and foreign governments.
