Hawai`i County should be reimbursed only for expenses incurred until December 31, 2019.
This is stated on.the Agenda but does not appear on the actual resolution.
There is no termination date on the actual resolution. It states "This MOA shall be terminated once the joint
operation to respond to the TMT protests has ended, or otherwise upon mutual agreement of the parties."
There is no total amount of funds on the resolution. By this time, the COH should know exactly how much is
owed.
This agreement, as proposed, is more aggregious than the original one proposed and rejected by the County •
Council on December 18 when$10M was proposed to be reimbursed for up to 5 years.
Recommend Council not pass this unless they insert exact amount owed as of December 31, 2019 and it does
not allow for future unknown expenses.
COVID-19 pandemic does not assure that"business as usual" will be conducted. Prior to the Covid threat, there
were reports of the project partners disagreeing with plans to proceed in Hawai`i. The TMT project will be
majorly impacted by the world recession. Why promote the construction of a project which is not fully funded.
This is too risky.
Any attempts TMT construction attempts during this pandemic and health crisis is inconceivable and are putting
everyone at risk. They should be held personally responsible for any and all repercussions resulting from any
and all construction attempts should they proceed at this time.
Know that although we are back in our communities to take care of our families, we remain-vigilant and
"manna ready." It is more important than ever to safeguard the places of prayer, the places we honor,the places
which shape and still teach us. We forward in "Kapu aloha always, sacred mountain, sacred conduct" in a
commitment to "just be PONO."
To Mayor Kim and The County Council The Whole Entire World Is Watching and Supporting Mauna Kea and
All Directions All Nations All Conscious Sentient Beings All Life Stand and Oppose 568-20 and.An.y
Construction by TMT and their Connected Entities, Employee's or Hired Subcontractors.
