REQUEST: Enter into amulti-year lease with the purchase option for five (5) years for one (1) medium volume copy machine for the Kona Building Division office located at 75-5706 Kuakini Highway (Hanama Place) in Kailua- Kona, Hawaii. Refer to Bid 1792, Item 8, Lease Option. Lease to be paid from A/C# 010-231-5232.02-111. B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDEDI: In the past, requests for purchasing a copy machine for the Kona Building Division office have been rejected. We have, therefore, been renting a copy machine on a monthly basis. The current rate for monthly rental (refer to Bid 1792, Item 8) has doubled from the previous year. The lease option would cost approximately $200 less, monthly. In addition to being less costly monthly, leasing a new machine should improve the productivity and efficiency of employees, thereby increasing the County's cost savings.
