Aloha,
This email is in opposition of Agenda Item #568-20 that allows a reimbursement for the use of
law enforcement against "protestors" of TMT for an unlimited period of time. The reasons for my
opposition are clearly stated as followed.
-Hawaii County should be reimbursed only for expenses incurred until December 31, 2019.
-This is stated on the agenda but does not appear on the actual resolution.
-There is no termination date on the actual resolution. It states "this MOA shall be terminated
once the joint operation to respond to the TMT protests has ended, or otherwise by
mutual agreement of the parties."
-There is no total amount of funds on the resolution. By this time the COH should know exactly
how much is owed.
Any attempts of TMT construction during this pandemic is inconceivable, putting everyone at
risk, and they will be held accountable for anything that happens. People will come so please do
not put our lives in jeopardy!!
