Bill 157 to have the County"acquire right-of-ways to be developed into alternate, connectivity,
evacuation, and mass transit routes ". Happening at Committee on Public Works and Mass Transit April
22.

Dear Hawaii County Council,
Those proposed routes for Puna(Ainaloa and Pohaku) are already somewhat improved and
established roads that people already use to cut between Highway 11 and 130. They are used
every day and are acceptable as they are.
WE NEED NEW ACCESS ROADS,NOT JUST EXISTING ROADS!
Oven the roads between subdivisions so there are more than 1 entrance right now they areag ted
off between Fern Acres and Hawaiian Acres etc... do that for all subdivisions in Puna
Why don't you fix the potholes on KULANI ROAD as an alternative to Highway 11 so both
lanes of traffic can drive at once?
Why don't you open up our public-rights-of-ways that Shipman has taken from the Puna
residents - Railroad and/or Beach road as an alternative to Highway 130?
Please do something that will actually make a difference for people stuck in traffic when there is
an emergency(Ainaloa and Pohaku will not make a difference because you are still routing them
between gridlocked Highways 11/130)
Please don't waste time and money on roads already existing. You don't need to widen those
roads or improve them, there is no easements they are residential subdivisions not commercial
and hundreds of people already use them effectively daily.
Can you please make some NEW roads for the rest of the people who need help!
