Aloha,
Onbehalf ofthe Kona Soil and Water Conservation District and the Lions Club ofKona, | amrequesting
approval of resolution 579-20 which would provide$7500 for the Konawaena high school Leo's club to
assist the Kona SWCD with community outreach to residents of Kona.This outreach effort will
specifically target the non-farm community which iscontributing tosoil degradation and other resource
concerns within the Kona District.
I am a director with the Kona Soil and Water Conservation District and it is inspiring to work with a
group of high school students enthusiastic about making a difference in our community.
As the first past president of the Lions Club of Kona I have been privilaged to work with some of
Konavvaenahigh school best and brightest students.
Please help us empower our youth in addressing Kona's serious resource concerns and climate change
byeducating our non-farm community.
