Re: Funding for food boxes to be distributed to households in need in Puna due to COVID 19
Aloha Council Chair and Members,
On behalf of Malama O Puna (MOP), we look forward to assisting District 5 Council Member, Matt
Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder, to ensure households in Puna will not go without food due to the disruptions in
work and school from COVID 19. The vast majority of households in Puna depend on free and
reduced lunch for school aged children and with many adult wage owners laid off during this Stay at
Home mandate, his actions to distribute food boxes will help many families in Puna. We at MCP
look forward in assisting with these efforts which will involve multiple community organizations and
coordinating the dispersion of funds for food boxes.
