Support for Bill 157 A 1 ---
Date
To: Council Testimony
Aloha, County Council Members!
As you can imagine from my testimony at recent County Council meetings, as well as testimony
during the past two decades, I am thrilled beyond words with Bill 157.
I have actively participated in dozens of planning processes, including the PCDP and hundreds
of meetings intended to implement it since it was adopted as ordinance in 2008.
Numerous groups and individuals tried to get action on many of the PCDP priorities related to
public health and safety, emergency response and preparedness, and educational and social
Services.
All of these priorities have a transportation component.
After adoption of council reports and resolutions, it appears that the County Council may be
posed to actually take action.
Although I recognize that Bill 157 might fall by the wayside, as have nearly all of the previous
actions intended to implement the PCDP, the General Plan, the Mass Transit Plan, et cetera, I
remain hopefiil that this particular County Council might actually be able to make something
happen!
I implore each of you to vigorously support Bill 157 and then to do whatever it takes to act
immediately, since all of its components have been approved many times.
With warm aloha and gratitude,
Hannah Hedrick, Fern Forest,upper Puna
