RESOLUTION NO. GOG 20
A RESOLUUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO `O KA`IJ KAKOU FOR
EXPENSES TO PROVIDE FREE MEALS IN KA`U DURING THE COVID-19
PANDEMIC.
WHEREAS, `O Ka`u Kakou (OKK) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission
is to promote a healthy community through education, culture, and economic opportunity; and
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic is causing severe hardship on families in Ka`fi,
including the ability for able bodied adults to provide meals for children and kupuna; and
WHEREAS, OKK will be preparing and delivering free meals in Hawaiian Ocean View,
Nd`dlehu, and Pdhala; and
WHEREAS, OKK is requesting funds to assist with food and supplies associated with
the preparation and delivery of the free meals; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that
promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community through alcohol-, tobacco-, and drug-
free activities; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to `O Ka`u Kdkou for expenses to provide free meals in Ka`u
during the COVID-19 pandemic.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
