RESOLUTION NO. 612 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO LOKAHI
TREATMENT CENTERS, INC., FOR EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES IT REQUIRES TO
OPERATE DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
WHEREAS, Lokahi Treatment Centers, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that
provides the highest quality mental health and substance abuse treatment services that are
culturally appropriate to Hawai`i Island adults, adolescents, and children; and
WHEREAS, Lokahi Treatment Centers, Inc., is adjusting its substance abuse treatment
programs by initiating protocols and measures that maximize social distancing and the ability for
its clients to "stay at home or in their place of residence", in compliance with the Third
Supplementary Proclamation issued by the Honorable Governor David Y. Ige, which took effect
on March 25, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Lokahi Treatment Centers, Inc., is requesting funds for equipment and
supplies needed to support staff and to help assist the community during the COVID-19
pandemic; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports initiatives that coordinate
efforts of government, social service, and non-profit agencies to develop and execute a
coordinated response; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Lokahi Treatment Centers, Inc., to purchase
equipment and supplies it requires to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
