SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
Lanihuli Street—TOW-AWAY ZONE
We request Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-281, Schedule 29, Parking
prohibited during certain hours on certain streets; tow-away zone, subsection (c), South
Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), be amended by
adding a new listing to be appropriately inserted alphabetically and to read as follows:
"Lanihuli Street, northwest (Hamakua) side, from a point one
hundred seventy-seven feet southwest of Kino`ole Street to its
southwestern terminus."
The purpose of this amendment is to remove existing parking stalls based on concerns
that vehicles parking in this area are also parking in adjacent areas designated "no
parking", blocking adjacent driveways and the line of sight for vehicles exiting said
adjacent driveways.
