Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year,
for a multi-year lease agreement for a copy machine for the Office of the Prosecuting
Attorney. The estimated monthly cost will be approximately $900.

A. REQUEST:
To enter into a multi -year lease agreement for five (5) years for a multifunction large capacity copier at the
Hilo Prosecutor's office..
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
We would like to request the authorization of payment of funds for more than one fiscal year for a new copier
lease for the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney's Hilo Office. The lease would be for five years. --.
We are seeking the replacement of a multifunctional copier for the Hilo office. The current copier was
purchased on a 5 year maintenance plan which expired in 2019. This machine is becoming obsolete,
requires frequent service calls, and is not suitable for continued service. The copier is critical to handle the
volume of work for our staff covering two Circuit courts, one District Court and one Family court. A:.new...
leased multifunctional copier able to meet copying, printing and scanning needs will improve overall
efficiency in the office. The total monthly lease will not exceed $900 per month.
This is more cost effective than purchasing a replacement and paying maintenance charges.
