Re: Operating Budget
The County of Hawai`i has been awarded$4,180,000 in federally-derived funds from the State of
Hawai`i Department of Transportation, $520,000 of which is new funding. $520,000 will be used
by the Hawai`i County Mass Transit Agency towards the purchase of two 35' busses. Prior grant
funding of$3,660,000 is being appropriated to new expenditure accounts due to a section change
in the grant. Section 5309 has since been updated to Section 5339 and the expenditure accounts
for FY 2016-17 through FY 2019-20 must reflect the correct titling.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating $4,180,000 in
grant funding.
