Resolution 604-20 in support of bikeshare?
Dear Stay Healthy Hawaii Bikeshare Member,
We are thrilled you have joined our Bikeshare Hawaii Island program as a Stay
Healthy Hawaii member. When the County asked PATH to keep Bikeshare up
and running for residents in response to the stay-at-home orders,we could only
have dreamed that we would be joined by 300 new members, taking over 1200
rides so far, in Hilo and Kona; clearly there is a desire for Bikeshare in our
communities!
The Mass Transit Agency budgeted $120,000 to support the bikeshare program,
as recommended by the Mass Transit Plan adopted earlier this year. The
resolution allocating those funds will be voted on this Wednesday, 5/6 by the
County Council Finance Committee.
Could we count on you to send testimony TODAY, in support of Reso 604-20,
which authorizes the Mass Transit Agency to award the already budgeted funds to
PATH to maintain Hawaii County's bikeshare system in Hilo and Kona? We
have included a sample testimony below. What a huge impact you would have if
each one of our new members sent testimony in support of continuing free
bikeshare! Please email your written testimony to:
counciltestimony@hawaiicounty.gov
Testimony must be received before 12:00 noon tomorrow! Comm.Ng-. '01 A

Or, if you prefer, could you please call your County Council member today and
ask them to support Reso 604-20?
Mahalo for your support. Also,be on the lookout for a survey within the next few
days so we can gain feedback from new members on your bikeshare experience
so far.
Take care and keep riding!

I ask that;you`§upport Resolution 604-20 that will allow PATH to
continue operating the bikeshare systems in Kona and Hilo. This funding will
allow the continuation of the free bikeshare membership throughout 2020 and will
help with plans to add bikeshare stations at Hawaii Community College and UH
Hilo. <please add a few words of your own describing your experience with the
free bikeshare membership>.
Mahalo,
