RESOLUTION NO. 634 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF
HAWAII YMCA FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS COVID-19 FIRST
RESPONDER CHILD CARE EXTENDED DAY CAMP.
WHEREAS,the Island of Hawai`i YMCA(YMCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that supports local communities by implementing programs and activities in areas
of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility; and
WHEREAS, the YMCA'S COVID-19 First Responder Child Care Extended Day Camp
was developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is designed to meet the needs of
Hawai`i Island's first responders and their children during these unprecedented times; and
WHEREAS, the YMCA is requesting funds to assist with an unexpected increase in the
cost of its trash pick-up service; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide drug-
free and alcohol-free activities for the community; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Island of Hawai`i YMCA for expenses related to its
COVID-19 First Responder Child Care Extended Day Camp.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
