RESOLUTION NO. 635 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WEST HAWAII
COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER,INC.,FOR EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH
ASSEMBLING COMMUNITY HEALTH AND WELLNESS KITS.
WHEREAS, West Hawai`i Community Health Center, Inc., (WHCHC) is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization that operates community health centers that provide medical and other
services to residents in West Hawaii; and
WHEREAS,the COVID-19 pandemic is causing an urgent need for health and wellness
information, hygiene items, and food across the island; and
WHEREAS, WHCHC's Outreach, Behavioral Health, and Care Coordination team will
be coordinating a community drive-thru wellness tent for COVID-19 outreach, which will
include the distribution of health and wellness kits; and
WHEREAS, WHCHC is requesting funds to purchase supplies for the community health
and wellness kits, which includes food purchases, supplies for meal preparation and serving,
travel size shampoo and conditioner, mouth rinse,toothpaste, and soap; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, due to the COVID-19 crisis,
supports identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with nonprofits to address
healthcare equipment needs of the community; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to West Hawai`i Community Health Center, Inc., for
expenses associated with assembling Community Health and Wellness kits.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
