REQUEST: Amendment to Ordinance 99-71 to add Resurfacing of Various Puna Roads project. Work to include the resurfacing of Highway 137, Pohoiki Road, Kamaili Road, Kumakahi Road, and Kiula Homestead Road. Estimated cost for construction is $2,000,000.00. Construction will be by County forces. The Federal share is $1,500,000.00 and the County share is $500,000.00. County share will be funded by Fuel Tax Funds, private contributions, fund transfers, and/or salaries and wages. Request appropriation of Federal share - $1,500,000.00, other unalloted fund transfer from Highway Fund - $125,000 (account no. 2239.00) and private contributions for Pohoiki Road - $91,000.00 (account no. 2271.05). B. BACKGROOND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved the construction of the Resurfacing of Various Puna Roads project. Federal funding will be for 75°s of the project cost.
