I - Hawaii property owners are already taxed based on their property value. Setting a higher rate for property values above a certain value is patently unfair, and assumes that everyone who owns such a property, regardless of their mortgage or other encumbrances, can afford to pay a higher rate. -The decimation of vacation rental eligibility already undertaken by the county has pushed many homeowners to struggle in paying their mortgage, taxes, etc. } -The unfair and inequitable increase in the rate for properties above a certain value will cause some owners to sell, other prospective owners not to consider buying, and will over time reduce the market i for and value of these properties, thus reducing property tax income to the county. `I Please reject this ill-conceived, short-sighted and unfair legislation. 3 I Thank you, Keith Dane s I I i a i i 3 I 3 Comm.
