Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year,
for a new multi-year lease agreement for a multi-function color copy machine for the
Department of Finance. The estimated monthly cost will be approximately $300. The
lease for the current copier has expired and the department wishes to enter into a new
lease agreement.
We respectfully request that a breach be authorized to submit this resolution after the
May 14, 2020, 12:00 p.m. submission deadline, that it be waived from the Finance
Committee and it be placed on the June 3, 2020 Council agenda, and that the Council.,
waive their five-day hold-for-reconsideration period in order to expedite this transaction.'

A. REQUEST:
Enter into a five year lease agreement for a multi-function, color, copier,
digital imaging
device to be located
at the Department of Finance, 25 Aupuni Street, Suite 2103, Hilo, HI.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Accounts Division's current copier lease has expired so a new lease will need to be executed. The new
lease will be for a copier/fax machine to be shared by the Finance Administration, Accounts Division and
Budget Office personnel. Cost of the lease will be approximately $300 per month.
We are requesting a waiver of the Finance Committee in order to procure a replacement as soon as
possible.

RE: Resolution No. 651-20 : RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE
FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR ONE (1) MULTI-FUNCTION
COPY MACHINE FOR THE DPEARTMENT OF FINANCE.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter,timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
