Dela Cruz, Chair sendelacruz(c capitol.hawaii.gov and Committee Members Senate Special Committee COVID-19 Hawaii State Senate Honolulu, Hawaii Dear Senator Dela Cruz, Per your letter dated May 13, 2020 requesting the County of Hawai`i's plans relating to planned expenditures of the CARES Act funding passing to the County of Hawaii in SB 75, SD2, HD 1 totaling $80,009,671, we have prepared the attached summary and detailed budgets. Below are our major categories of expenditures: Expenditure Amount Description Categories Community Assistance $28,038,653 Childcare grants, household grants, technology improvements for rural areas to help support school closures and teleworking, student and senior technology tools, homeless prevention Public Safety. 3,411,747 Contact tracing program and implementation, compliance with reopening protocols, prevention and ,- education, education, enforcement, community sanitization and disinfection • Hawaii Island 22,300,000 Grants and support for small businesses, Recovery Initiatives agriculture, energy, restarts, startups, nonprofits and the business community County of Hawai`i is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer.
