Re: Transmit Communication(Comm 925) for Bill 168
Bill 168 was transmitted to Council on May 1, 2020 to appropriate funds from the State
of Hawaii in conjunction with the Coronavirus Relief Fund under the Coronavirus Aid,
• Relief, and Economic Security Act(CARES Act). The Department of Finance wishes to
transmit the County of Hawai`i's plans for CARES Act expenditures that was transmitted
to the Hawai`i State Senate on May 15, 2020.

Dear Senator Dela Cruz,
Per your letter dated May 13, 2020 requesting the County of Hawai`i's plans relating to
planned expenditures of the CARES Act funding passing to the County of Hawaii in SB
75, SD2, HD 1 totaling $80,009,671, we have prepared the attached summary and
detailed budgets. Below are our major categories of expenditures:

Housing, Construction contract tracing and services location,
and other housing needs
Administrative Cost 6,647,276 Personnel costs relating to the COVID-19
pandemic response
Equipment/Compliance 10,054,995 PPE, renovation needs for social
needs distancing, computer and teleworking
needs
