Chun Council Chair �` g� RE: Resolution Determining the Real Property Tax Rates for Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Attached is a resolution that establishes the real property tax rates for net taxable buildings and net taxable lands for each class of property in the County of Hawai`i. Pursuant to Ordinance No. 20-39, the residential classification has been established with two- tiered tax rates with property having a net taxable real property value under $2,000,000 falling in residential tier one and those at$2,000,000 or more in residential tier two. The schedule of rates at which the various classes of real property in the County of Hawai`i are taxed per$1,000 of assessed valuation have been changed to accommodate the proposed Operating Budget(Bill No. 144, Draft 2) for fiscal year 2020-2021. The new rates, as shown below, are based on Bill No. 144, Draft 2, as submitted by the Mayor. Tax Rate Per Tax Rate Per Classes of Property $1,000 Net Taxable $1,000 Net Buildings Taxable Lands A. Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on Finance for placement on its future agenda.
