Aloha All
Hope you are all staying well.
Wanted to share some comments and observations on the proposed County Budget:
•Hiring should be frozen and no new positions created. Believe if staffing is required, the police
and fire departments should be exempt
•We agree with Mayor Kim's additional tax on residential properties usually generally second or
third home, valued at $2 million or more.
•Suggest no property tax on other full time residential properties.
•Suggest property tax increases for those who have second homes as well as rentals on the
Island.
•Suggest better management and review of the current revenues. Are they being used to the
best interests of the resident tax payers ?
•Suggest furloughing some County workers or have employees work 5 days one week, 4 days
the next, etc. This has been done with union government workers in the San Jose CA area
in past years.
