RESOLUTION NO. 667 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BOY SCOUTS OF
AMERICA, ALOHA COUNCIL, FOR THE PUNA DISTRICT BUS STOP PROJECT.
WHEREAS, Boy Scouts of America, Aloha Council ("Aloha Council"), a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization, prepares young people to make ethical and moral choices by instilling in
them the values of the Scout Oath and Law; and
WHEREAS, Aloha Council provides scouting to youth on O`ahu, Kaua`i, Maui, Hawai`i
Island, the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern
Mariana Islands; and
WHEREAS, Aloha Council prepares youth for life through leadership and growth
programs as well as service projects that support comradery and community service; and
WHEREAS, Aloha Council offers exciting scouting programs designed to inspire, build
character, and instill values that youth need to succeed today; and
WHEREAS, Aloha Council is requesting funds to assist with miscellaneous expenses
associated with the construction of covered benches at various County bus stops in the Puna
district; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations, such as Aloha
Council, that promote the health, safety, and welfare of our youth and our communities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to Boy Scouts of America, Aloha Council, for the Puna District
Bus Stop Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC- Contingency Relief $4,000
CREDITED TO:
010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $4,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
