Aloha,
The purpose of this email is to express my opposition to proposed Bill 169.
I am one of thousands of individuals who are employed by homeowners/ members that own a second home in
the Kuki'o Resort and Hualalai Resort area.
Some of us employed by these homeowners of Kuki'o and Hualalai Resort are either employed by a company
that perform specific services or self employed directly by individual homeowners. In any case by passing Bill
169 it will have a huge impact on a lot of individuals that work at Kuki'o and Hualalai that make a living to
support their families.
I am certain that I am not the only person expressing their position on Bill 169. Some may be for the Bill as it
probably will not have a effect on how they will support their family and others like myself oppose Bill 169
because it will have a huge impact on being employed and supporting my family.
So far I have not heard any positive feedback from the homeowners that I work for. Although these
homeowners of Kuki'o and Hualalai Resort are wealthy enough to build a second home in Hawaii. Some have
expressed selling their second home in Hawaii and moving back to the mainland as the only option as they feel
targeted with Bill 169.
Again I oppose Bill 169 and feel that I speak for others that are also employed in Kuki'o and Hualalai but will
not express how they feel or simply don't see the entire picture on how Passing Bill 169 will have an impact on
their lively hood,
