Sometimes, the county or state social services step in to help get the minors under age IS in foster care or gro up homes. Once they are in the foster care system, they are at more risk than ever because there is no accountability. If the children go missing its often written off that they "ran away" and there are too many cases like this to keep track of. We cannot allow this continue. Children's lives are at risk every single day. Hawaii is an easy target because no one checks and no one cares. predators are aware of this. Foster care is sometimes overseen by Catholic Charities Hawaii as one of the county l state courts vendors for social services. There are people working as staff at CCH who have criminal records and yet are still hired and entrusted with children.and volunerable populations. .it car of be confirmed whether or not Catholic Charities Hawaii conducts its own background checks on its own staff upon offer of employment but overlooks their criminal backgrounds to fill an already highly in demand need for more staff. However, all social service organizatiotaa need its staff to have employees conducted thorough independent background checks with the state of Hawaii. There should be clean drug tests,no disciplinary complaints at previous jobs, and no criminal records whatsoever W especially if there are staff therapists at Catholic Charities Hawaii who have criminal charges involving minors. Every single member of the staff of Catholic Charities Hawaii, especially therapists, social workers, and an.yotae who spends time alone with children or on supervised visits, needs to have its employees pass thorough independent background checks with the state of Hawaii.
