ORDINANCE NO. 66
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 (TRAFFIC SCHEDULE) , OF THE
HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (1995 EDITION) , RELATING TO TRAFFIC
REGULATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII :
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 7, division 1,
section 24- is amended to read as follows :
Section/24- Traffic signal systems.
(a) The installation and use of traffic signal systems is
hereby authorized at the streets and intersections
described in schedule , chapter 24, article 10 .
(b) Whenever traffic signals at any intersection are
completely out, drivers shall proceed as though the
intersection is controlled by an "All Way Stop. "
SECTION 2 . Chapter 24 , article 10, division 2 , section
schedule is repealed.
SECTION 3 . Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, is amended by
adding a new section and schedule to read as follows :
Section 24- . Schedule . Traffic signal systems.
Traffic signal systems are hereby authorized as set forth in
this schedule at the streets and intersections described as
follows :
(a) Hamakua
(b) North Hilo
(c) South Hilo
(1) Ainaola Drive/Haihai Street.
(2) Kamehameha Avenue/Pauahi Street .
(3) Kawili Street/Kapiolani Street.
(4) Keawe Street/Haili Street.
(5) Keawe Street/Mamo Street.
(6) Kekuanaoa Street/Manono Street .
(7) Kilauea Avenue/Aupuni Street.
(8) Kilauea Avenue/Kawailani Street .
(9) Kilauea Avenue/Kawili Street .
(10) Kilauea Avenue/Kekuanaoa Street.
(11) Kilauea Avenue/Lanikaula Street .
(12) Kilauea Avenue/Mohouli Street.
(13) Kilauea Avenue/Pauahi Street/Hualalai Street.
(14) Kilauea Avenue/Ponahawai Street .
(15) Kinoole Street/Haili Street.
(16) Kinoole Street/Hualalai Street .

SECTION 4 . New material is underscored. In printing this
ordinance, the underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 5 . If any provision of this ordinance, or the
application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid,
such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 6 . This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval .
