Request: $1,000,000 for Bike Path Hawaii
Aloha To Roy Takemoto and Tina Clothier
For making bikes available for free during the covid emergency for exercise.
This request for funds would cover:
A. 4months of Free use of Bikes during covid
B. Funds to extend services in preparation of the next covid crisis. (Such, as tricycles for the elderly and disabled as well as motorized
bikes and scooters.
C. Funds for additional stations at Beach Parks in Hilo and Kona as well as Senior Centers in each district.
D.Funds to extend off road routes that would connect parks and lower curbs where needed for elderly and disabled.
E. Funds for Outdoor Gyms along Bike Routes in Existing Parks for needed exercise. These exist in most major cities now nationally
and internationally.
F. Funds for Bike to Boat usage at Wailoa Park with bike stands near boat rental Areas, making upper body exercise a part of the
emergency Measures for long term covid future situations.as well as improving Hilo as a tourist destination as in other cities in US.
Example: Traverse City, Michigan.
