RESOLUTION NO. 685 20
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF TOURNIQUETS WITH ACCESSORIES TO THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the Spirit of the Blue Foundation is donating 442 Gen-7 C-A-T
Tourniquets with RIGID TQ Cases and cross patch with duty belt attachments to the County
of Hawaii Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the tourniquets and accessories, valued at $30,926.74, will be issued to
sworn personnel after completion of Active Law Enforcement Rapid Response
Training/Active Attack Integrated Response; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Ryan T. Smith, Executive Director, Spirit of the Blue Foundation, 12771
SW Tooze Road, Sherwood, OR 97140.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Police Department, the Department of Finance and the Office of the Mayor.
