HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 686 Draft 01 2018-2020 �tY os''' COUNTY OF HAWAII -a.f.4‘. _* \,\Aist- STATE OF HAWAII %aid-_ f:•� RESOLUTION NO. 686 20 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF RICE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION WHEREAS, the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, Pacific Island Region is donating 300 bags of instant rice to the County of Hawaii Department of Parks & Recreation; and WHEREAS, the rice, valued at $1,575, will be distributed as part of the Elderly Activities Division's Emergency Meal Program; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of Hawaii, accepts this donation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, Pacific Island Region, 1238 Wilhelmina Rise, Honolulu, HI 96816, acknowledging this generous donation. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Department of Parks & Recreation, the Department of Finance and the Office of the Mayor.
