A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
COLLAPSIBLE WATER JUGS FROM THE STATE OF HAWAII,
HAWAII EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR THE
HAWAII COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, Hawaii Emergency Management Agency wishes
to transfer ownership of 2,100 collapsible water jugs, valued at $3,675, to the County of
Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, these collapsible water jugs will be distributed to participants enrolled in
the Home Delivery Meals and Coordinated Services programs who are homebound for use
during emergencies and natural disasters; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section
2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or
personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance,
may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of
this transfer of collapsible water jugs; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai`i County Charter, and Chapter 2,
Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai`i County Code, the Council of the County of
Hawai`i accepts this transfer.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Finance and the
Office of the Mayor.
