RESOLUTION NO. 688 20
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF STAGHORN FERNS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, Gene Monnier is donating various Staghorn ferns to the County of
Hawai`i Department of Parks & Recreation; and
WHEREAS, the ferns, valued at $2,950, will be located at the Pana`ewa Rainforest
Zoo and Garden; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Gene Monnier, 29-371 Chin Chuck Rd., Hakalau, HI 96710,
acknowledging this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Parks & Recreation, the Department of Finance and the Office
of the Mayor.
