RESOLUTION NO. 690 20
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF CLOTH FACE COVERINGS TO THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY
WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is donating 1,000 cloth face coverings to the County of
Hawaii Civil Defense Agency; and
WHEREAS, the face coverings, valued at $2,000, will be used in the fight against
COVID-19; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency recommends the acceptance of this donation;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Vibrant Hawaii, 200 Kanoelehua Avenue, PMB 366, Hilo, Hawaii
96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Civil Defense Agency, the Department of Finance and the Office of the
Mayor.
