My name is Carolyn Shames I own as home in Kekailani Mauna Lani. I bought the property in 2007 and
built the house and then occupied it in 2009. The value has only decreased since then.

There too many taxes already on luxury homes to make them a sensible financial investment. More
taxes will just hurt development and cut tourism so the result will be lower occupancy. Less people to
spend their money in Hawaii.
This is the absolute worst thing to do right now. COVID-19 shutdowns have already seriously hurt the
Hawaii economy. Prices and taxes need to go down not up to re generate the good economy we just
had. Please do not hurt the citizens seriously hurt and lost loved ones by slowing the recovery we all
need.
Please take my comments under advisement when voting on this.The proposed bill is a big mistake.
