RE: SPENCER KALANI SCHUTTE DISTRICT PARK
Aloha Hawaii County Council,
We are the children of Spencer Kalani Schutte. We are in complete support of naming the
Waimea District Park, the"Spencer Kalani Schutte District Park".
Our father was very passionate not only in the community he lived in and represented, but the
entire Island. He was a true champion about helping the Kupuna, the less fortunate and
bettering the community for our children. One of his concerns was always looking at the future
growth of our community. The driving force in his search to secure funding for the district park
was that he saw that children needed a place to gather, play sports, enjoy eachothers company
and a place to just be a kid! His ultimate goal was to be a part of the solution to keep kids off
the streets and create an environment that would keep them safe.
Our father was very compassionate about the community and the people that resided here. He
was held in very high regard, would help anyone that needed it and always did it without ever
expecting anything in return. He was straight forward, sincere and very well respected.
Thank you for your consideration in naming the park the"Spencer Kalani Schutte District Park".
For all that our father was and for all that he did, it would truly be an honor to have the park
named after him in remembrance of a truly remarkable individual that always saw the goodness
in everyone he met and always put forth what was best for the people of this community.
