Aloha councillors,
The issue of adverse health effects from wireless technologies is not a new one, and I have been following the
research for many years. Even 4G and 3G towers and cell phones have been associated with a whole range of
conditions in humans, including cancers. I think that the example of the history of tobacco smoking is an apt
comparison. The kinds of health impacts from wireless technology has a lag-effect of a few decades subsequent to
exposure. The data is starting to accumulate now concerning those who had heavy exposures to cell phones and
towers in the early days. There is evidence that cell manufacturers are aware of the damaging effects of their products
and networks. That the whole industry, worldwide, is regulated only by a private consortium of cell service
companies indicates that much needs to be done by government to assert reasonable controls on this industry,
however convenient its products are for us in our modern life. 5G doubles down on the amplitude, wavelength, and
strength of these wireless transmissions. Others I'm sure will share the peer-reviewed data that warrants a pause in the
fervor for this rollout. I urge you to vote in favor of this resolution, based on the precautionary principle that any new
technology that brings with it significant questions about its risks undergo further assessment before being
implemented.
