I spent some time reviewing the proposed resolution and previously lodged Public Testimony comments on this 5G issue.
Sadly, I completely understand how ignorant hoaxes are now given oxygen via the internet and the poor education we've given
Americans for several decades.
I note a large number of commenters are in other Hawaiian counties, and even on the mainland. The presence of their comments is
due to the "hoax"subculture that includes anti-vaxxers,flat earthers,fake moon landings, and other even more ridiculous nonsense.
Radio-phobia has been documented since before 1903. There is always an appetite to explain the invisible with unscientific claptrap.
This is sadly one of those occasions.

I note several commenters have linked 5G with the COVID-19 virus transmission. This was easily debunked when medical
professionals noted the transmission and illness from the virus in countries that have NEVER had 5G towers, and in fact some
countries that don't even have 4G mobile systems! Viruses CANNOT spread via radio waves. Basic physics. Cannot happen. Period.
The energy levels from 5G radio waves are tiny and they are nowhere near strong enough to affect the immune system.There have
been lots of peer-reviewed, reputable studies on this subject over the decades.
(,note many of the supporters have said things like there is"adequate evidence that 5G is harmful". However NONE of these
commenters ever quotes any of this evidence or what these claims of the negative consequences might be.
I note that a large number of commenters sent their emails to the Planning Committee VIA CELL PHONE DEVICES! Talk about
hypocritical! One Bonnie Fish said "i already have a problem with a tremor just from using 4G" (sic). Another, Susan Higa,
regurgitated several health nut theories very extensively,and below her signature was the appellation "Sent from my iPhone". What
kind of person attacks a technology that they themselves use?
I note many of the letters claim "Doctor" status. Many of these "doctors" are in fringe or non-medical fields. One physician in
Waimea quotes extensively fringe non-science against radio waves as the core of her argument. This despite the fact her practice
includes the use on humans of lasers, clearly a much more dangerous and unproven technology using much higher frequency radio
waves!
I note many of the commenters say that 5G should be blocked "until it is proven safe". Where is a single scrap of science that even
suggests that micro-levels of non-ionizing radiation (radio waves) is harmful to ANYTHING?
I would guess that virtually EVERY commenter on this resolution have microwave ovens in their homes. The radiation produced
inside a microwave oven is much higher in frequency and substantially higher in localized power than a 5G radio cell tower. Decades
of studies show that these microwave ovens do no harm. Radio waves are radio waves.
I appreciate that politician Matt Kanealli'i-Kleinfelder needs to take idiotic positions that somehow build on his "free thinking" (I can
think of other more appropriate adjectives) Puna constituent base. Pandering to your"base" is the new, lazy political methodology
currently being used by our leaders in Washington. Kanealli'i-Kleinfelder is contemplating a run for Mayor of Hawai'i County. This
proposal if adopted will only engage our county in expensive litigation that we would lose.
Please do NOT support this nonsensical proposal.
