Call to Order: (Chair) Patricia Walters called the meeting to start at 10:05 am.

a. Speakers from Kona Disabled American
No one was available to present

American Veterans group.
b. Pam Cabrera of Hawaii Disability Rights
Pam introduced herself to the

she is the peer advocate for the
Hawaii Disability Rights Center.
Their agency does protection and
advocacy for people with all
disabilities. She informed the
Committee that she works
closely with the schools, in
making sure the students with
disabilities get the proper
education.
She informed the Committee that
any complaints would need to
reported through the Oahu
office.

working on the letter for Mayor

7. Announcements Committee Member Alcoran
shared information about the
Carrigan Grant. This is a free 6
and 1/2 week course for job
readiness and is open to anyone
with disabilities. Taking place at
the Arc of Kona.
Pam Cabrera also informed the
Committee about an event called
Reverse Job fair. This event
targets people with disabilities
and Veterans.
