Call to Order: (Chair) Patricia Walters called the meeting to start at 10:15 am.

a. Pam Cabrera of Hawaii Disability
Pam gave her presentation to the
Rights in attendance from Honolulu Office.
Committee. She explained that
she is the advocate for the Island
of Hawaii and her focus is any
legality issues regarding
Housing, and voting. They help
educate their clients with
disabilities how to vote. Pam
helps with Advanced Health
Care directives and emergency
preparedness on the Big Island
for people with disabilities.
b. Sub Committee Reports
Committee member Susan
Shirachi reported that she met
with Denise Oguma from HOPE
Services regarding affordable
rental housing and ABLE
Accounts. (See attachments)
Committee Member Linda
Gonzales reported on illegal
parking. She would like to reach
out to Torey Keltner because
some officers are not aware of
the proper enforcement training.

6. Old Business
c. Letters to fortify our actions from this Committee Member Gonzales
Committee and to report it to the Mayor on introduced the idea of putting
a monthly basis. together a letter every month
advising the Mayor of areas of
concerns.
Ms. Gonzales suggested that at
the end of future agendas, the
Committee vote on 3 items to
advise the Mayor.

made a motion to write a letter to
the Mayor. Committee Member
Tobosa seconded the motion.
