I'm writing to thank you for your letter of May 1, 2019, written on the occasion of
your imminent departure for your next diplomatic posting.
I am most grateful for our friendship, which I am confident will thrive despite
geographic distance. We share the same deep desire for world peace, and I appreciate
your devoted efforts to promote peace on earth.
Please know how important our relationship is with the Consulate General of the
Republic of Korea. We deeply appreciate all that you do for the welfare of Koreans on
our Island, as well as Korean-Americans who live here.
I want to heartily assure you of our continued support for your Consular
colleagues and your incoming successor, whom we will surely welcome.
