Dear Ms. Butler:
Thank you very much for your gracious letter of August 5, 2018 and the beautiful
eagle pin. I sincerely apologize for taking so long to reply.
It isn't every day that I get fan mail, and from all the way from Mississippi at that.
Your letter and the kind prayers you sent arrived here in Hawai'i as we were in the
middle of the Kilauea eruption, which caused so much destruction and suffering for our
people.
I really appreciate you reaching out with your deeply spiritual message of
heavenly comfort. It is so good to have someone pray for you.
We are now one year past the start of the eruption, but we continue to do the
hard work of recovery. Please continue your prayers for all of us as we go through this
long, difficult process.
Thank you very much indeed for your kindness and compassion.
